Here a few tips to help you to ensure your cv stands out from the crowd in your job search.

Keep your cv short and clear with first-class content, ideally a maximum of three pages.

A CV is your brochure and your introduction to a new company.

· Name at the top, followed by a short profile description of you.
· Underneath your profile add your key skills and don’t be shy.

· Start with your work history with your latest role at the top and first role at the end.
· Describe under each job your duties, skills learnt and gained showcasing your demonstrable and measurable for the role you are applying.

· Follow this with your qualifications, relevant exams and your IT skills.

· Add interests to show some off your personality and any reference details you have.

A Team Recruitment Legal like to provide interview tips where we can we would have more concern if a job seeker didn’t ask for any interview tips. 

As we are working for both our clients in providing them with the right fit for their company. We are also working on behalf of our job seekers in providing both parties with as much information and preparation as possible. This is particularly important as no interview is the same and this is where our knowledge of both our clients and candidates are shown.

Before your interview 

• Look up the location of the office, if there is parking, how long it will take you to get there, plan for extra time on the day.
• Have your best business attire clean and ironed. Remember those first impressions are everything!!
• Carry out research on the company, there is no excuse for not knowing who the company are.
• Read up on who it is you will be seeing.
• Have some questions for your interviewer.
• Turn your phone onto silent or leave in your car, you do not want any unnecessary distractions.
• Arrive no more than 10 minutes ahead of your interview time, not any sooner.
• Prepare for common interview questions in case these are asked of you.
• Make sure you have a presentable copy of your cv to take with you.

• Why did you apply for this role?
• Tell me your strengths?
• What are your weaknesses?
• Let me know what your clients say about you?

 In the interview

• Greet your interview/s with a firm handshake and warm smile.
• Listen carefully to their questions and respond once given the opportunity.

• Remember you are there to see if the job and company are the right fit for you as well you for them.

• Ask your interview what are the next steps and when can you expect to hear. 
• Don’t be afraid to ask the interviewers if there is anything else, they would like to know.
• Thank the interviewers for their interest in you and don’t be afraid to tell them if you are keen on the role. “From what I’ve seen and heard I think I would fit in well here and hope you feel the same”

Dislikes of an interviewer

• Not dressed appropriately, scruffy shoes and/or untidy appearance.
• Being late or too early.
• Little or no knowledge and interest in the firm or role.
• Lack of eye contact.
• Evasive answers to questions given.
• Being negative about past employers.
