Senior Civil Liberties Lawyer Full Time

Senior Civil Liberties Lawyer required for our renowned multiservice law firm who are committed to access for justice. In your role as Senior Civil Liberties Lawyer, you will be our highly respected team specialising in civil liberties and human rights. Working from their central Birmingham office as their senior Liberties lawyer you will be working on interesting and challenging mix of high-profile work primarily focussing on actions against the police, prison service and other public bodies.

The Role

• Dealing with inquest work, investigating deaths in state custody.
• supervising a dedicated paralegal
• Working on both publicly funded and CFA cases
• Work primarily focussing on actions against the police, prison service and other public bodies
• Acting as legal aid supervisor
• Providing written submissions backed by detailed grasp tortious claims and judicial review.

The Person

• Essential to have at least 3 years PQE
• Must possess experience with civil litigation, judicial review challenges in the High Court and Inquest work
• Experience as a legal aid supervisor
• Ideally have worked on both publicly funded and CFA cases
• Have an imaginative and determined approach with excellent analytical abilities both orally and in writing
• An ability to work under pressure and meet financial targets are essential
